Integrating Science or Social Studies
Painting options: movement or still life
Demo mounting and signing work
Integrating Math
  • Cut a 4 inch cardboard square
  • Measure off 1 inch at top and side, and draw a mark with a pencil
  • Create a jagged or swirled line into this 1 inch area
  • Carefully cut on lines and tape piece to the opposite side (without turning the piece over.
  • Begin at lower edge of paper, trace in rows across the bottom intelocking shapes, repeat on row above
  • Oil pastels or crayon : design shape as a fish, animal or face as you repeat coloring, lighten pattern or alternate colors

Alternate Oil Pastels Approaches:

  • Oil Pastels blended together
  • Oil Pastels Engraving/Etching. color heavily - brush India ink or tempera over
    (thinned slightly - and touch of dish liquid added). Let dry.
    Scratch off with scratch tools.
  • Oil Pastel resist. Outline with bold black markers - color heavily - paint over with black watercolor
